2008 re-wind

i am 100% ready for 2009...2008 was a one of the roughest years for me...don't get me wrong there were a ton of great times and that is all i am going to focus on in my 2008 re-wind...here you go in slow mo.

starting at the end of the year with my first christmas at my new home with all of my family over to celebrate, my dad turning 50 at disneyland, AC/DC, my new sliding doors and camera, road trip to LA with kelly for the gypsy caravan, Johnny and June, 2 years with my love, love, love, our house warming party (thanks to all who came and helped), the whiteside wedding, coreena's bachlorette party, the tilton wedding, d turning 4 years old, going to chicago for CHA !!!, camping with my whole fam damily, getting the keys to my very own home, themed parties, toolie's puppies were born, DRIVE-INS, teal day, bay to breakers, NSD at GT and becoming one of the creative directors for GT, sky diving with my brother (i don't think i will do that again), rpm with the fam, julien's first b-ball game, mudding at the ranch, FIDM alumni chapter president retreat in LA...karaoke, snowboarding and lots of it, zach and i b-day weekend in tahoe and starting it all of with a new years kiss from the man i love.

i hope you all have a safe and fun 2009...if things get a little rough for you just rember "all you need is love" - beatles

i have had this movie for quite a while now and watched it last night finally (zach is out of town so it was the perfect opportunity to watch what he calls my hippie musical)

all i can say is

thanks to thee who pirated their own booty for the sake of me tree...

mackenzie made me an adorable pirate ornament, kinsey donated the garland, megrandma had a huge parrot collection for me to rade and me mum brought over enough loot the decorate me whole house.

me aunt faye even caught the pirate fever and found this fabulous pirate nut cracker

so cute!!

an early christmas!!

wow this has been such a fun christmas so far...

just yesterday the gift from my dad came for zach and i...

 

(3) new sliding doors!!!!  these bad boys were very much needed, and they are so beautiful.

thanks so much dad...for all of your help with every thing...i love you so much...

then today at work, our super talented kinsey and lauren gave us all at GT this fun little book.  it has all the work info in it that we all need along with a 2009 monthly calendar...thanks girls!!!

it is time for sugar and spice and every thing nice...

my mom brought me over some of the most amazing cookies i have ever had!

she shares my hate for coffee and love for chai tea latte, and when she found this recipe she shared it with me too...

chai tea girls...

 

here is the recipe for anyone else that love chai or just wants to experience the most amazing cookie ever:

prep time:25 min. chill: 3hrs. bake:12 min. in over at 350

(2) spiced chai-flavor tea bags

(3) cups all-purpose flour

(2) tsp. pumpkin pie spice

(1 1/2) cups butter, softened

(1) cup sugar

(2) egg yolks

(2) tbsp. molasses

(1) recipe powdered sugar icing

here is what you do:

1. in med. bowl, combine tea, flour, and pumpkin pie spice; set aside

2. in lg. bowl, beat butter on med-high 30 seconds. add sugar; beat until light and fluffy. beat in egg yolks and molasses. beat in as much of the flour mixture as you can; stir in remaining flour. divide dough in half. cover and refrigerate 3 hours (or until easy to handle)

3. preheat oven to 350 degrees. grease cookie sheet. on lightly floured surface, roll half the dough at a time to 1/4 inch thickness. cut dough with your chai girl cutter.

4. bake 12 mins (or until edges are lightly browned) cool on cookie sheet 2 min. or if you are like me just try a little piece even though you know it is going to burn your mouth...enjoy!

yo ho yo ho...

a pirate tree for me...

 

yep, i have always loved themed trees and this year (carrying out the theme of our cards) we AARRRR going pirate.  i talked with some girls at work yesterday and got some great ideas...parrots, gold coins, beads for garlin, a hat for my tree toper, glitz and gold.  i am going to make a pirate map for the tree skirt.  i have a lot of books so i am doing some research.  i am also going to try and do this as low cost as possible so if you have any suggestions i would love it...

well it looks like winter is finally here, time to get the rain boots out!

i heart snail mail

getting letters and cards in mail is so much fun...i love sending it too!  every year since i have been out on my own i have sent my own christmas cards (i wish i would have kept one for my self every year). 

i just finished this years christmas card and they are ready to go out in mondays mail.  it was simple but me...

 

i used American crafts "everyday" line for the stripes and the stamp is from savy stamps...i think we still have a few at GT.  the card stock was just a bazzil criss cross red and my o so fav kraft!!!

yep i am all finished with GM 105!!!! and i got an A to boot!!  i now just have to focus on FIN 101 (and i am not so confident about this one...but i should be fine)...

i am still working on posting a video...any tips (i think i have to set up an account with you-tube :( i try not to have accounts everywhere) but it will be worth it...so i am going to post one of my first layout and my most recent like i mentioned last week...

so here is the first LO i ever did...

   

i had always been a picture taker is did not lack the photo's, and when i saw what my friend jaslynn had done for her boyfriend i thought that would be the perfect gift for my boyfriend at the time, (for our one yr. annv.) so i made a book form the first photos we had together through out the whole first yr.

you may recognize mr. Tilton (mer's husband) in a few of those pics

you may also notice the velum journaling block and the mulberry photo mounts!!!

i also notice when going through this album my unconscious love for KI Memories (that was used a ton, even this LO).

so here is my most recent...

 

this used one of my other favorite paper lines scenic route!!

 

i used scenic route sticker letters, there Halloween line "Salem" and making mem. glitter stickers "spell bound"
