i learned to sew when i was 10 yrs old, got my first sewing machine at 12, and have sewn ever since {i even made my Sr. Ball dress for my Sr. project}
ever since i returned home form vegas a couple months ago, i have been very inspired to start sewing again...it has everything to do with my g-ma collette taking me to her favorite quilt shops in vegas and falling in love with the patterns {same way i did with scrap booking}...so i picked up a new hobby "quilting" and came home with some new projects that i have been continuing and starting in this last week!
this was a style of quilt my g-ma was working on while i was there and i fell madly in love with it. she was using scraps from all of her other quilts...i started with ROY G BIV in mind and will make a table runner for my dining room.
this i finished yesterday {with my mom's help...thanks again mom}
i have had these seat cushions for a long time now and they needed a face lift so i picked out some fabric {with color} and made covers for my cushions!! i have the stripe material for the bench cushion that is still in the works!
this one turned out "Sew cute" i had made these banners years ago and sold them at craft fairs around town and my mom and i got some fun "boy" colored material and made a bunch for a baby shower we threw for our good friend!
i bet most of you recognize these patterns...My Minds Eye "Bloom & Grow" and my all time fav. Cosmos Cricket "Snorkel". i made a belly book for my friend out of the MME paper and saw this quilt set in vegas and had to get it for her and her bun in the oven. and once i finish that quilt i will make one more with my fav. "snorkel" because i know there will be lots of babies in the future!!!
and when you are 5' 2" there are always hemming and patching jobs :) but today i am going to play with one of my all time favs...oilcloth! i will make a few little bags for some friends per there request!
if any of you sew and know of some great quilting shops in this area let me know...thanks
LOVE what you are working on! I used to make baby quilts before I had children. Lately I've been thinking about making a quilt for our bedroom. The task seems a bit overwhelming though as it is King sized. We'll see . . . : )

Hi Brandi! So funny that you are into sewing and quilting...I have been itching to get my sewing machine out again, too! I've just decided to turn a little sitting room off of out bedroom into a sewing room for me. Rob and I went to Meissner's this AM, and he's on his way home right now with a sewing cabinet for me...so excited...can't wait to get it all set up and sewing again. Let me know if you find out about any quilt shops...I only know Tayo's in Fair Oaks Village.
